We’re committed to safely connecting neighbours for essential services, especially during times of need. “Tasks for Good” connects vulnerable individuals and organisations in need with local volunteer Taskers who donate their time and skills to support their communities. If you’re looking for a volunteer, visit this page to find a Tasker near you who’s willing to donate their time.
What kinds of tasks can I find volunteer help for?
Taskers can pick up medications; deliver masks, gloves, and other personal protective equipment; deliver meals from schools to students in need; board up windows for small businesses or community centres during lockdown orders; do grocery shopping — and more.
Where is Tasks for Good available?
As of May 13, 2020, Tasks for Good is available in each of the cities Taskrabbit serves in the US, Canada, UK, France, Spain, and Germany. To see a full list of cities, visit here.
Who is this program for?
Tasks for Good is intended for individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic (immunocompromised, elderly, disabled, healthcare workers) and organisations (non-profits, government agencies, community-based organizations, local small businesses) in need of volunteer support. Please note that all of the tasks completed under Tasks for Good can also be booked in Taskrabbit’s regular marketplace — we kindly encourage those not in a vulnerable position to hire Taskers there.
How does it work?
Tasks for Good are booked and completed the same as any other task via the Taskrabbit website or app, but are free of charge (except for any expenses, such as groceries). Know what kind of help you need? You can read Tasker profiles to find a match. Please include specific instructions in the task details about what you need done, how long you estimate the task will take, and any other relevant information.
What if my task involves expenses?
While you won’t be charged for the task itself, we will ask for a credit card at booking to cover any expenses. You can reimburse volunteers through the Taskrabbit app for any purchases they make for you. For example, if you ask a volunteer to pick up groceries, they will input the cost of the groceries to the task, which you can review. When the job is complete, your volunteer will be automatically reimbursed using the credit card that you have attached to your Taskrabbit account.
How can I tip my volunteer?
Volunteers work for free, but you can still tip them! If you wish to tip a volunteer, please visit help.tr.co after the job is done.
