Will my Tasker help me with recycling?
After every official IKEA Assembly, your Tasker will compact and separate your recyclable materials to make it easy for you to recycle them with your normal waste/recycling collection service.
Where can I recycle IKEA packaging?
Most IKEA packaging is made up of three materials:
- “Styrofoam” (polystyrene)
Cardboard and Plastic are common easily recyclable materials. For these materials, City of London suggests:
Cardboard: Can be recycled via your clear sack or recycling bin. Large pieces of cardboard that don't fit in your sack should either be placed directly into a recycling bin or if you have a street collection, should be flattened and taped together and placed next to your recycling sack. Please ensure cardboard is clean and dry, otherwise please place it in your household waste.
Plastic packaging: Clean plastic packaging can be recycled via your clear sack or recycling bin.
However, Styrofoam (polystyrene packaging) is not a recyclable material, for this City of London suggests:
Polystyrene packaging: Expanded polystyrene should be placed in your household waste sack or bin.
Most London boroughs offer similar recycling services, however, if you do not have the facility to recycle these materials at your home, please go to Recycle Now for guidance. By entering your postcode, this website will help you find your nearest recycling facility.
What if I do not have recycling facilities at home and cannot take my packaging to a local recycling depot?
Please contact TaskRabbit Customer Support and we will arrange to take your packaging away at a time convenient to you.
