Taskers on the platform are not employees of TaskRabbit; rather, they are independent contractors. Taskers set their own hourly rates for work, their own schedules, and their own work areas.
In the US, all payments are made through a trusted third party payment system, and income received through the platform does not have taxes withheld. According to the IRS, all income is taxable. The best practice is always to report your income. TaskRabbit will not be able to provide any tax advice. We recommend contacting a Certified Public Accountant if you need any advice on how to correctly report your income.
TaskRabbit Customer Support representatives are not tax professionals and will not be able to answer additional questions regarding filing taxes. If you have questions, we recommend checking out the IRS website or asking a tax professional. With that in mind, TaskRabbit does not give out 1099 forms unless you earn more than $20,000 in a calendar year and have more than 200 transactions. If you meet these qualifications, you will receive an Earnings Summary detailing the income and reimbursements on each of your tasks.
All Taskers may download a PDF version of their transaction history at any time. Taskers may find this by logging in at TaskRabbit.com, choosing "Account" followed by "Transactions".
Lastly, don't forget to check out the discounts on finance tools that can be found in the Perks section of your Tasker profile.
