We are committed to keeping the TaskRabbit platform safe and want you to know the ways in which we are doing so. If you are registering to become a Tasker, you will notice a series of steps throughout (and following) the registration process that help maintain the safety of the community. These processes are outlined below.
Verifying your identity
In the first step of the registration process, we ask for some basic information such as your full name, home address, and date of birth. This information is used to verify your identity. Please be sure to use your full legal name on your TaskRabbit account. If the system has trouble verifying your identity, please see this Support Center article to learn about the next steps.
If you do not already have a valid credit card on file, you will be asked to enter your credit card information during your online registration. If your registration is successfully processed, you will be charged a non-refundable $20 registration fee.
Please Note: Payment of the registration fee does not guarantee placement as a Tasker on the TaskRabbit platform.
Conducting a Background Check
During your online registration, US registrants will be prompted to enter their Social Security Number (SSN). Our US background check provider will use your full legal name, date of birth, and social security number to process a criminal background check.
Setting Up Your Direct Deposit Information
Our registration process requires you to enter your bank account information, as this information is necessary to set up your method of payment on the platform. Taskers can be paid only through direct deposit to an active checking account. Savings accounts, prepaid debit cards, and reloadable bank cards are not valid, even if they accept direct deposits.
We do not use your private financial information for any other reasons than those outlined above, and it is securely stored in an encrypted format . Before you begin tasking, you will be given access to an online info session. This info session is designed to familiarize you with our app and boost your chances of success on our online platform.
Once you begin tasking, you will have access to our Customer Support Team by email, live chat for on-task issues, and phone. Additionally, we have an experienced Trust & Support, Policies, and Resolutions teams in place to assist with escalated issues.
We process prospective Taskers by reviewing the criteria submitted during the registration process. You may not create multiple user accounts or re-register after an unsuccessful registration attempt, pursuant to our Terms of Service.
