As of November 17, 2016 the TaskRabbit service fee is 30% for all tasks.
What about my Ongoing tasks?
All active Ongoing tasks that were invoiced and toggled as “Ongoing” before November 17, 2016 were grandfathered in at the original 15% service fee. Any Ongoing tasks after November 17, 2016 will have a 30% service fee.
What about my returning/repeat Clients that have not been marked as Ongoing?
A 30% service fee will apply to all tasks that have not been marked “Ongoing” before November 17, 2016, regardless of whether you have tasked with the Client before.
Can I still mark tasks Ongoing?
Yes, you can still mark tasks Ongoing if you would like to work with the same Client, in the same category, at the same rate. This will keep the chat thread open, and allow you to schedule a new appointment with your Client. You can choose to make a task Ongoing on the same screen where you submit your invoice. Clients have informed us that they appreciate you seeking permission in the chat thread first!
What about the reduced service fee for Elite Taskers?
The reduced service fee for Elite Taskers is not affected by this change. If you are Elite and have active Ongoing tasks that have been confirmed with your Clients before November 17, 2016, those tasks will adhere to the 15% service fee.
Does the service fee apply to tips/gratuities?
No, 100% of tips/gratuities awarded by Clients will go directly to the Tasker, with no fee taken out of the amount.
Does the service fee apply to reimbursements?
No, there is no change to reimbursements for approved expenses. You will receive 100% of the expense amount reimbursed by your Client. Remember to confirm the amount with your Client BEFORE spending, send them a photo of your receipt AND verify with Customer Support, which is required if the expense exceeds $300.
