The tools you choose to bring to any task are entirely up to you. In order to opt-in to the voluntary IKEA Assembly category, however, you agree to some additional Terms and Conditions, which include bringing a fully charged drill to your IKEA Assembly tasks.
These are the items Taskers have found most useful to bring on IKEA tasks:
- Allen Key
- Electric Drill
- Masking Tape
- Spirit Level
- Wall Anchors
- Tape Measure
- Stud Finder
- Spare Parts
There are two tools that are especially useful:
- Electric Drill. An electric drill helps to make IKEA Assembly tasks more efficient and high quality. Additionally, having an electric drill allow you to mount any items to the wall easily.
- Hacksaw. While not as obvious, a hacksaw comes in handy in the event that an item needs adjustment. For example, if a curtain rod needs an inch trimmed off the end, a hacksaw can get the job done.
Of course, always communicate with your Client if there are any special tools you will or will not bring (i.e. ladders) before you arrive at the task.
