Taskrabbit offers a Volunteer category so you can help your neighbors in need. Whether it’s delivering food or medication, passing out meals at schools, or everything in between - we want you to make it easier for you to help your community.
What you need to know:
- To opt-in and receive volunteer tasks, add the Volunteer category in your app by going to My Business > Skills & Rates.
- There is no specific skill associated with Volunteer tasks. Use your Volunteer Quick Pitch to share how you’re able to help.
- Volunteer tasks are based on your Work Area and Availability. Like all tasks, you'll only receive volunteering opportunities during times and in areas that you have indicated you are available.
- This is an unpaid category. Your rate in this category is automatically set to $0.
- When you finish a task in this category, make sure to mark the number of volunteer hours that you completed, just like you would mark the number of hours worked on a regular invoice.
- Since Volunteer tasks are unpaid, they are excluded from the regular cancellation fee policy. If a Client cancels a Volunteer task within 24 hours of the task’s start time, the Tasker is not eligible to receive a cancellation fee.
- Expenses can still be reimbursed in the Volunteer category. If you incur any expenses while volunteering (e.g. purchasing groceries for a Client), add those expenses to the task as you normally would. When you submit your volunteer hours, your expenses will be reimbursed through the app.
- Volunteer tasks will factor into your Analytics.
- Clients can tip you through the app after the task is completed.
- Clients can leave reviews for Volunteer tasks. Reviews in this category are subject to the usual review guidelines.
- Volunteer tasks are subject to Taskrabbit’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, but will be exempt from the Happiness Pledge.
- Please be sure to follow all public health guidance and regulations in effect in your area during your task. If you need more information on tasking safely and taking precautions against COVID-19, please click here.
- Volunteer tasks are intended to help serve individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic (immunocompromised, elderly, disabled, healthcare workers) and organizations (non-profits, government agencies, community-based organizations, local small businesses) in need of volunteer support. If you feel you are being asked to volunteer for someone who does fall under the above populations, please reach out to Taskrabbit customer support.
As a reminder, you are not obligated to volunteer through the Taskrabbit platform. If you choose to volunteer, thank you for helping your community.
The Volunteer category is currently only available in select cities.
