What is the DBS Process for England & Wales?

This article applies only to Basic DBS checks for Taskers and new registrants in England and Wales

As part of Taskrabbit’s commitment to trust and safety, all Taskers are required to complete identity and Basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks every two years.

What is a DBS Check?

A DBS check, also known as ‘Basic Disclosure,’ provides a copy of your criminal history, listing any unspent convictions and conditional cautions. It applies to individuals living or working in England and Wales.

Why is a DBS Check Required?

Since tasks mostly take place in a client's homes or workplace, criminal background checks help us maintain a safe, trusted community on the Taskrabbit platform.

How do I Obtain a DBS Certificate?

We have partnered with Checkr Inc., a trusted third-party provider, to conduct Basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks for all Taskers on our platform.

You will receive an email from Checkr Inc. requesting your details to process your application once you complete the new Tasker Workshop.

Checkr Inc. also uses Yoti to process any ID verification required. During this step, you will need to use your smartphone camera to scan a QR code.
