How Does VAT Apply to Prepaid IKEA Assembly Tasks?

Due to how Pre-Paid IKEA Assembly tasks are structured, it’s important to note that these tasks are exempt from VAT. As a result, you, as a Tasker, do not need to remit VAT to the authorities for these tasks. This means these tasks are exempt from VAT.

In contrast, any IKEA Assembly tasks that are not Pre-Paid are subject to VAT, and you should continue remitting VAT to the authorities for these tasks.

In your Taskrabbit account, Pre-Paid and non pre-paid IKEA Assembly tasks will be clearly marked so that you can distinguish between which jobs are subject to VAT and which aren’t. The Pre-Paid tasks will have the text “Prepaid” displayed within Task Details, while non Prepaid jobs will be without the “Prepaid” text.

Friendly reminder: whether the task is Pre-Paid through IKEA or booked directly through Taskrabbit, due to flat-rate pricing, your earnings will stay the same. Your Client pays VAT on the full amount, including any Taskrabbit fees. This may make the total price look higher, but rest assured, your pay remains unchanged.
