What Should I Do If My Client Doesn't Want a "Secure It" Item Affixed to the Wall?

If your Client isn't able or is unwilling to secure an item to the wall when the assembly instructions require it to be, and you haven't assembled it yet, please do not move forward with the assembly of this particular item and document the information in the chat thread.

The “Secure It” Program by IKEA aims to reduce the risk of accidents by securing IKEA furniture to the wall when indicated in the assembly instructions. Safety is a top priority for Taskrabbit and IKEA, so we want to make sure you, your Clients, and their families remain safe after you’ve completed the task.  

As noted in the IKEA Assembly Terms and Conditions:

"Before booking an IKEA Assembly task, Clients must acknowledge that they’ll work directly with Taskers to ensure items that require securing are properly affixed to the wall before tasks are completed. "
