Do I Need To Get My Client's Signature Once My Task Is Completed?

Starting April 2026, IKEA Assembly tasks will include a required in-app confirmation step. After completing the job, Taskers will need to confirm wall-securing details and collect a client signature before invoicing. This is in addition to collecting Proof of Completed work photos before leaving the client location.

Why do I need to collect a client signature?

In order to help prove that a job has been satisfactorily completed, and to protect all parties involved in the task, a client signature should be collected. Clients will be able to see their captured signature via email after the Tasker invoices.

Is this required for all tasks or only some?

As of February 2026, all IKEA tasks in Italy will require that Taskers collect a signature from the client. This should be done after the task is complete and before leaving the client location.

How will the client provide their signature?

Signature collection will be completed in the Tasker app.

  • From the task details screen, the Tasker will first be able to mark whether an assembled item (or items) was adequately secured to the wall as per the assembly instructions, or if the client explicitly declined.
  • Next, the Tasker will be able to mark if the task was or was not satisfactorily completed.
  • Upon completion of the above two steps, the Tasker will be prompted to hand their mobile device to the client for their signature.
  • After signing, the client should hand the device back to the Tasker, who will then submit the selections and signature to Taskrabbit via the app.

Presently, the client will not be provided the means to submit their signature via the Taskrabbit app or website. Signature collection must be completed in the Tasker app on the Tasker’s mobile device.

Do I need to collect a client signature before I submit the invoice?

Yes, client signature collection should be completed before leaving the client location, and before submitting the invoice for the task.

What if the client refuses to sign, is not available, or I accidentally forget to collect their signature?

Taskers will never be prevented from invoicing or being paid if they do not collect a client signature. However, IKEA job invoice submissions without client signature will be monitored, and continued omission of client signatures will be considered a policy violation that may result in account limitation or removal from the IKEA category.

If the client refuses to sign, the Tasker should mark this refusal as such on the relevant screen and provide a thorough explanation as to why in the provided text field.

If the client is not available, or the Tasker accidentally forgot to collect the client signature, the Tasker should mark as such on the relevant screen and provide detail as to why in the provided text field. Before submitting the invoice, the Tasker should reach out to the client via chat to collect their written confirmation that the job was completed as desired. After any Taskrabbit task is completed, Taskers have 24 hours to submit the invoice. Taskrabbit understands that not all clients always respond to chat.

What if my phone battery dies, I have no signal at the client location, or somehow lose access to the Tasker app?

If Taskers run into technical issues at the client location, this will not block their ability to invoice. After recharging their phone, regaining signal or otherwise regaining access to the app, the Tasker should mark that the client is not available on the relevant screen, and provide detail to the circumstances in the provided text field. Before submitting the invoice, the Tasker should be sure to reach out to the client via chat to collect their written confirmation that the job was completed as desired. After any Taskrabbit task is completed, Taskers have 24 hours to submit the invoice. Taskrabbit understands that not all clients always respond to chat.

What does Taskrabbit do with the client signature?

Taskrabbit securely saves the client signature and corresponding selections. Taskrabbit will send the client a copy of their signature as well after invoice submission.

What about collecting a client signature for tasks that can only be partially completed due to broken or missing parts?

At times, for IKEA Assembly tasks, Taskers will encounter broken or missing parts, or missing IKEA-specific hardware. In these instances, the Tasker should collect a client signature regarding only the IKEA item(s) they were actually able to assemble. Following signature collection, the Tasker should follow existing guidance to document the issue(s) via chat, and then subsequently contact CS to address. If in rare instances the client refuses to sign, the Tasker should mark as such on the appropriate screen, follow existing guidance to document the issue(s) via chat, and then subsequently contact CS to address.

What about collecting a client signature for bundled tasks?

For large IKEA tasks where multiple Taskers are working on the assembly, each Tasker should collect their own client signature after the work is complete.
